This policy refers to the cookies that we use in the website.
WHAT IS A COOKIE?
An HTTP cookie (also called internet cookie or browser cookie) is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's computer by the user's web browser while the user is browsing. The cookie is installed at the request of a web-server by a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox) and is completely "passive" (does not contain software, viruses or spyware and cannot access the information on the user's hard drive).
IN WHAT PURPOSE WE USE COOKIES?
Cookies are transmitted between a sender (usually a website or web application) and a recipient (client's device).
A cookie is created and interpreted by the sender, while the recipient only keeps it and sends it back if the sender requests it.
When you browse the Internet, the sender is the server that hosts a website and the recipient is the web browser that visits that site. Their purpose is to identify the user, verify his past activity on that site and provide specific content based on that data.
WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES DO WE USE?
We use two types of Cookies: per session and fixed. Cookies per session are temporary files that remain in the user's terminal until the session is complete or the application is closed. Fixed files remain on the user's terminal for a period specified in the Cookie parameters or until they are manually deleted by him.
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Site performance cookies;
- Visitor analysis cookies;
DO COOKIES CONTAIN PERSONAL DATA?
Cookies do not require personal information in order to be used and in most cases, do not personally identify internet users. Data collected through the use of Cookies can only be collected to facilitate certain functionality for the user. This data is encrypted in a way that makes it impossible for unauthorized persons to access it.
SECURITY AND CONFIDENTIALITY REGARDING VIRUSES
Cookies are NOT viruses! They use plain text formats. They are not made up of programming language (code) so they cannot be executed or self-run. Consequently, you can't duplicate or replicate on other networks to run or replicate again. Because they can't perform these functions, they can't be considered viruses.
Cookies can, however, be used for negative purposes. Because it stores information about users' preferences and browsing history, both on a particular site and on several other sites, cookies can be used as a form of Spyware. Many anti-spyware products are aware of this fact and constantly mark cookies to be deleted as part of anti-virus/anti-spyware removal/scanning procedures.
In general, browsers have built-in privacy settings that provide different levels of cookie acceptance, shelf life, and automatic deletion after the user has visited a particular site.
OTHER ASPECTS REGARDING COOKIES
Hence the protection of the user's identify is very important, it is advisable to know what problems cookies may create. Because information is constantly transmitted in both directions, between browser and the website, if an attacker or unauthorized person interferes with the data transmision, the information contained in the cookie may be intercepted.
Although very rarely, this can happen if the browser connects to the server using a non-encrypted network (e.g. a properly unsecured WiFi network) or if the user doesn't use the necessary software protection tool (antivirus programs).
Other cookie-based attacks involve the wrong cookie settings on servers. If a website does not require the browser to use only encrypted channels, attackers can use this vulnerability to trick their browsers into sending information through unsecured channels. Attackers then use the information for unauthorized access to certain sites. It is very important to be careful in choosing the most appropriate method of protecting your personal data.
TIPS FOR SAVE NAVIGATION, BASED ON COOKIES
Here are some tips that can make sure you browse without worrying about cookies:
Customize your browser's cookie settings to reflect a comfortable level of cookie security for you.
If you don't mind cookies and you're the only person using your computer, you can set long expiration times for storing your browsing history and personal access data.
If you share access to your computer, you can consider setting your browser to delete individual browsing data each time you close your browser. This is a way to access sites that place cookies and delete any visitation information at the close of the browsing session.
Install and constantly update your antispyware apps. Many spyware detection and prevention apps include detecting attacks on sites. This prevents the browser from accessing websites that could exploit browser vulnerabilities or download dangerous software.
Make sure your browser is always up to date.
Many cookie-based attacks are carried out by exploiting the weaknesses of old versions of browsers. Disabling and refusing to receive cookies may make certain sites impractical or difficult to visit and use. Also, refusing to accept cookies does not mean that you will no longer receive/see online advertising.
All modern browsers offer the ability to change cookie settings. These settings are usually found in "Options" or the browser's "Preferences" menu.
